This light little dinghy can be rowed easily and stows on the coach roof when underway. |

There is no "perfect" dinghy. They all have different merits and failings. This one seems to be the best all around little boat for our lifestyle. The plans came from Ron on Celerity. I cut it down a little so it would fit on top of a Seawind and out of the way. Moxie has a generous hatch in the cabin roof that can be left open under the dink even in the rain. For that reason, I left out a permanent seat. A rolled up dinghy and extra junk can fit under it for passages. It is light enough to pick up with one hand and throw in the water, no drama! I built the first one out of 1/4" plywood using the stitch and glue method. It worked out so well, I made another one out of structural foam and glass. Nothing like the smell of uncatylized resin. |
